About Throttleshock:

Throttleshock is my baby, a dream that has been rattling around in my head trying to get out for ages.  It finally won the battle and emerged onto the scene in Spring of 2010.  Just in time for racing season.

This is a site where I hope that those who enjoy dirt track racing as much as I do will find something to love, a little piece of the sport that they can carry home with them after the dust settles and the checkered flag is packed away for another night.

I am a Christian, a wife, a mom, a race fan and an amateur photographer.  In the summer, I take pictures of race cars and the people involved in the sport. My goal is to take the pictures the other shooters don't get, like those of dogs riding in push vehicles and kids steering Segways through the pits.

In the fall and winter, I try to capture images of my son as he plays snare drum in his high school's marching band and drumline programs.  One might think that the off-season gig is a lot safer, but you would be surprised at the injuries a kid moving and playing an instrument at the same time can sustain.

This fall, I will be dressed to the nines, and still dragging a camera around with me as my daughter walks down the aisle.  Yes, we have hired a professional photographer (one of my dearest friends) but there is no way I could sit through my daughter's big day without a camera.  It just isn't natural.

So this is Throttleshock.  It's about capturing that elusive moment, and saving it forever.  This is for the husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, girlfriends and boyfriends, daughters and sons and incredible sponsors who support the driver in their life.  You are the unsung heroes, and I hope you will find a little something here to remind you of why you sacrifice your time and money, freeze and sweat, shout yourself hoarse, gasp, clap, stomp, cry and pray for that guy or gal who was born with racing in their blood.

Without you, the thrill would last for a moment.  With you, it will be re-lived at every family gathering, pondered during quiet moments and treasured forever.

Enjoy the feeling of Throttleshock.
